Rigdzin Trinley

Rigdzin Kunzang Pema Trinley (1641-1718) was enthroned and ordained by the Fifth Dalai Lama of Tibet. Rigdzin Trinley was the Fourth Dorjey-drag Lineage Holder.

Dorje-drag is a monastery in Tibet that transmits the Nyingma Northern Treasure Text Tradition teachings. The monastery is in the Lhoka region of southern Central Tibet.  There is a mountain behind the monastery where there is a rock that has a footprint of Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava and a naturally formed crossed vajra. The monastery was named Dorjey-drag, literally “Vajra Rock”.

The Fifth Dalai Lama was a great revealer of Nyingma treasure texts. The set of 25 deity practices of the Sangwa Gyachen derive from his pure visions. The Fifth Dalai Lama transmitted them to Rigdzin Trinley.

This fragment of robe was personally offered to Morgann Bryant by His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche. Ms Bryant offered this during a relic event in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2002.
