His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche
His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche was regarded as the spiritual head of the Nyingma lineages until his death in 1987. He was unique in having received transmission of all the known Nyingma teachings. He was born to a privileged family in the South East of Tibet in Pemako on 10th June 1904 and was soon recognised as the rebirth of the 19th Century Tertön His Holiness Dudjom Lingpa.
Dudjom Lingpa (1835-1904) discovered numerous terma or hidden teachings most notably related to Vajrakilaya practice. In particular he was a master of Dzogchen and was regarded as being the best communicator of his age of the nature of mind and lamas sent their own students to him for direct mind transmission. His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche died in Dordogne, France on 17th January 1987 and was enshrined in a stupa in Bodhanath, Kathmandu, Nepal.
This hair relic was personally offered to Morgann Bryant by His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche before his death. Ms Bryant offered the relic to the Project in Santa Fe, New Mexico during a relic event in 2002.
