His Holiness the 15th Karmapa
His Holiness the 15th Karmapa, Khakhyab Dorje, (1871 - 1922) was born in the Tsang Province of central Tibet. He was recognised and enthroned by the Kyabgon Drukchen Mingyur Wangi Gyalpo. He received the transmissions of teachings from Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye and studied with many great masters, including Khenchen Tashi Ozer. He gave empowerments throughout Tibet, and preserved many rare texts by having them reprinted.
Provenance
These relics were received by Lama Tsultrim Gyaltso Rinpoche from Karma Wangyal who recovered them in 1990 when a stupa was destroyed. They were offered by Lama Tsultrim at a Relic Tour event in Stockholm, Sweden during August 2007.
